With E8 LONGUE, the standard table E8 has been expanded to include an extendable version. When closed, the extension of the slim table is invisible. In just a few easy steps, the table top can be extended for two more seats. The table top and extension are made from one piece of wood and then divided. The consistency of the wood grain and the symmetry of the striking edge profile yield an exciting and yet harmonious overall appearance.
The slides of the extension are based on a metal rail, which is set into the underside of the table top. Through this innovative solution, the solid wood can swell and shrink naturally without affecting the extension function of the table. The development of E8 LONGUE is a strict translation of the classic pull-out mechanism used in solid wood tables, at the same time utilizing options provided by precision manufacturing with a 5-axis CNC moulding cutter.
Without drawing attention, the table combines craftsmanship and pure functionality.
