The "Khan Shatyry" Entertainment Centre promises to be one of the most astonishing and impressive attractions in Astana. The name "Khan Shatyry" which means "Royal Marquee" promises to be just that; this transparent tent has a 150m tall mast with a 200m e
lliptical base, covering 100 000 square metres. The "tent" is formed of a cable net structure and Texlon ETFE foil.
The Texlon ETFE system cladding allows sunlight through which, in conjunction with air heating and cooling systems, maintains an int
ernal temperature of between 15-30°C in the main space, and 19-24°C in the retail units, while outside the temperature varies between -35 to +35°C throughout the year.
On completion, the "Khan Shatyry" will be the largest entertainment centre in Ce
ntral Asia, including an urban-scale internal park, shopping and entertainment venue with squares and cobbled streets, a boating river, mini-golf and indoor beach resort.
