Tom

The tom dining chair forms the basis of a large family of furniture, later on called the "tom family". All items within the "tom family" have a distinctive look due to the play of lines created by the way the plywood has been glued

vertically to the grain.
The extensive range is available in its natural state, stained or in solid oak.

Because tom is made of solid wood, it's a relatively heavy chair, which emphasizes the strong character even more. The hard seat get

The tom chair can be delivered in various ways:
• Birch plywood, natural, which of course shows the lines of the
plywood extremely well.
• Birch plywood, stained in

a colour: whitewash, walnut, wenge,
black
• Solid oak, natural
• Solid oak, stained in a colour: "summer oak" which is a light
stain, "basalt", a darker brown stain, or black

Each product f

rom the "tom family" in plywood, and the natural solid oak version, is polished with an ecological oil. This intensifies its natural appeal and gives an extra protection against external influences. It is advised that especially in the beginning

, the products are polished with oil quite some times, so that the wood gets soaked with oil and doesn't get too dry.

The plywood version cannot be finished with lacquer. Multiplex has a shrink- or swell tolerance of 3%, which in case of the &q

uot;tom family" works in the width. Due to this extreme flexibility, lacquer would show little fractures immediately.

The solid oak version, stained in a colour, will be finished with a matt lacquer.
