HAKA is a new table designed by Marc Sadler for RIVA 1920. The tabletop is made of solid walnut with an oil finish and the legs are made in naturally coloured iron.
Marc Sadler: born in Austria but a French citizen, now lives in Milan where he has h
is own studio.
His experience in the sports equipment and apparel design sector, a sector which requires that design employ the most technologically advanced materials, has led him to apply this special know-how to the field of furniture design
.
The basic concept behind HAKA is the desire to create a self-supporting structure: a kind of tressle table with allusions to the wondrous structures of Leonardo da Vinci.
A delightful item making its debut with the double name wood + wood (bu
t which in the future will also be available in a wood + steel version), which again insists on the use of materials that are pure, thick and "string" like solid wood.
The central idea of the design is the juxtaposition of the two ele
ments support and top available in various combinations but above all in different sizes and types: table or occasional table; with tops that are rectangular, square, round or natural.
