Looking ahead
The choice was not easy: the independent expert jury of the Designplus Award by ISH scrutinised 160 submissions. The jury included the experts for sanitation, heating and air conditioning Elke Oechsner, Managing Director, Heizungs-Journal Verlags-GmbH, Jens Wischmann, Managing Director VDS – Vereinigung Deutsche Sanitärwirtschaft e.V. Managing Director VdZ – Wirtschaftsvereinigung Gebäude und Energie e.V., Prof Amandus Samsøe Sattler, ensømble studio architektur, President DGNB e.V., Matthias Thiel Consultant for Business Administration, Data Management, Demographic Change at ZVSHK – Zentralverband Sanitär Heizung Klima and Stylepark (magazine for architecture and design).
13 winners were selected. The six categories, including two special categories, not only structure the product submissions, but also showcase the wide range of products on offer at the ISH and the exhibiting companies. The special exhibition will be on display in Hall 5.1. C40 for the entire duration of the trade fair from 17 to 21 March 2025.
Water & Efficiency +

Geberit
Silent-Pro-SuperTube
Jury statement: The highly sound-insulated Silent-Pro drainage system, enhanced by the hydraulically optimised SuperTube technology, impresses with an efficient wastewater installation without bypass pipes. Space requirements, material usage and costs can therefore be significantly reduced. As only one pipe penetration seal is required, fire protection is also simplified. The new internal geometry is flow-optimised and allows pipes of up to six metres to be laid horizontally without a gradient. The drainage capacity in the downpipe is increased by up to 15 per cent as a result.
Samsung Climate Solutions
ClimateHub & Hydro Unit
Jury statement: The Samsung ClimateHub offers a space-saving complete solution for heating and hot water that is suitable for both new and existing buildings. The development can replace a gas boiler and integrates a hydraulic unit, a hot water tank and water pipes in one device. All versions are compact and therefore also suitable for small rooms. The ClimateHub is easy to install and has an aesthetic design that fits into any architecture.

GeoCollect GmbH
GeoCollect geothermal absorber module
Jury statement: The GeoCollect geothermal absorber module is a contribution to the energy revolution: Thanks to its special design and utilisation of solidification heat, it enables particularly high extraction rates in the ground and can be used for both heating and passive cooling. Thanks to its installation on two levels, the required site area of the geothermal absorber system is reduced and the absorber field can also be built over.
HVAC & Sustainability +
Cartesian AS
Cartesian Thermal Box
Jury statement: The Cartesian Thermal Box redefines thermal energy storage in buildings. It relies on sustainably sourced phase change materials that absorb and release a large amount of thermal energy. Another impressive feature is that it can be integrated into existing heating and cooling systems, where it improves energy efficiency by shifting loads and reducing peak loads. The modular design is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation and therefore offers great flexibility.

Design & Innovation +

Wildeboer Bauteile GmbH
FK90 & FR90
Jury statement: The fire dampers can be used in wall constructions with clay panels and offer a further milestone for future-orientated and environmentally conscious construction. The new installation solution is also easy to install and saves time. It is practically suitable for the interior construction of timber and solid houses, as well as for listed buildings and renovation projects.
Bette GmbH & Co. KG
BetteUltra Space
Jury statement: With a height of just 15 millimetres, the BetteUltra Pro is Bette's flattest and most versatile shower tray to date. Installation is easy, even in difficult floor conditions. The footprint is not only particularly generous, but also barrier-free, non-slip and offers a cross-generational design. With a good 20 sizes and a wide range of colours, the design can also be customised. Made of high-quality glazed titanium steel, the surface is hygienic and easy to clean.

Villeroy & Boch AG
VEA
Design: Christian Haas
Jury statement: The ViPush technology of the VEA mixer tap collection from Villeroy & Boch offers barrier-free operation, as it can be switched on and off at the touch of a finger, while the temperature is set by turning the head. Manufactured in Germany and available in many variants, the collection can be used for a wide range of projects.
burgbad GmbH
cleanFlow & cleanFlow+
Design: Thomas Gerig
Jury statement: The cleanFlow siphon offers a new level of installation and function – designed to save space and quickly assembled from just a few parts, it is a real space saver and contributes to a barrier-free bathroom. At the same time, the siphon is easy to clean from above and below. The cleanFlow+ closing valve offers automatic overflow protection and a push-to-open function - water can be collected without an eccentric rod and overflow hole.

Special mention: Design & Innovation +

HEWI
Barbie™ x HEWI
Design: HEWI Heinrich Wilke GmbH
Jury statement: With the Barbie™ x HEWI collection, a marketing strategy was devised that shines the spotlight on a topic that is often neglected in design despite the ageing society: The barrier-free bathroom. The pink colour scheme and the cooperation with a brand that has been internationally renowned for decades will also reach new target groups. The Barbie™ x HEWI collection gives Universal Design a new emotionality that gives hope for continuation.
Sustainable Exhibition Stand +
burgbad GmbH
Design: bottega + ehrhardt architekten GmBH & Studio Besau-Marguerre
Jury statement: burgbad impressively demonstrates how appealing and functional a sustainable design can be for exhibition stand construction at the ISH: as a new edition of the stand concept for ISH 2023, the modular room system is demonstrably recyclable. With a high wooden shelf on the surface and a transparent curtain covering it, a variety of visual axes and levels for presentation are created. The sustainable material concept was thought through down to the last detail: the burgbad logos were realised as contour-cut paper honeycombs.

The brand image is also refreshingly relaxed and conveys how varied the modern contribution to the energy transition can be.
BlueHeart Energy B.V.
BlueHeart
Jury statement: With Blue Heart, the spin-off from the research organisation TNO has developed a technology that replaces the core component of heat pumps. It offers a quiet, durable, flexible and comparatively inexpensive system that works without climate-damaging refrigerants or CO2 emissions. This is the first time that thermoacoustics, previously used in industrial applications, has been transferred to heat pumps in residential buildings and is suitable for both new and existing buildings.

Swiss Eco Line AG
Swiss Eco Tap
