No compromises

Vola stands for one principle: it's the original that counts, not the imitation. Architects, designers and planners have appreciated the consistently high quality offered by the traditional Danish company for decades. Its new main catalogue demonstrates that this promise also applies to the agency.

Vola design is made for generations: the modular system with the iconic fittings by Arne Jacobsen and Verner Overgaard allows maximum flexibility in configuration. They also conserve valuable resources in both production and use – each product is made to order from high-quality materials in Denmark. As a result, the range offers exceptional quality and many possibilities for individualisation. The fact that the users are at the centre of Vola's commitment can be quickly seen in the designs: The 080D body shower, for example, offers the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing shower without having to wash your hair and the waterfall spout is ideal for quickly filling the bath.

Vola also sets this high standard for its communication: the new main catalogue of the long-established company is a work that offers a holistic view: ‘We had the projects elaborately photographed instead of relying on renderings. The photos show our range in architecture and offer more than just a product showcase,’ says Max Mattauch, Managing Director of Vola GmbH Germany. Taking a step back and letting the architects have their say instead is a matter of course for Vola. The new main catalogue therefore also includes personal statements from the creative minds who have integrated Vola products into their projects: Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen from Norm Architects, Thomas Lykke from OEO Studio or Ilse Crawford give an insight into their design philosophy. ‘Design can make our values visible. It can show and communicate an alternative to current practice, and we must stand up for this,’ says Crawford.

As a result, the visualisation is not only visually very appealing, it also shows what is important to Vola when it comes to design: consistency, clear design, no compromises. 55 different references from 48 renowned architects can be discovered in the catalogue, as well as shower and product combinations that Vola is presenting for the first time. Each room has been elaborately staged so that details such as the aesthetics of the raw polished brass with its unique patina are perfectly emphasised. ‘Creating simple yet sensual spaces requires a sincere dedication to craftsmanship and the ambition to work with high-quality materials and details,’ summarises Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen from Norm Architects. Vola has thus created a high-quality catalogue that will continue to serve as a source of inspiration – for architects and interior designers, for clients and retailers alike.
