Elegance in a blue circle
The only circular hotel in Europe is located in Frankfurt: Designed by London-based architect John Seifert, the Radisson Blue with its truly unusual shape and a façade completely clad in glass is most definitely a landmark. And it remains just such an icon at night, too: The outline of the building, which is just short of 100 meters high, is illuminated in blue and easily visible even from afar. Two of the exclusive suites were designed by the architects at JOI-Design – for the “Modern Serenity” suite, the interior architects chose high-grade tiles and sanitary products by Villeroy&Boch. The centerpiece of the bathroom, quite literally, is the free-standing Quaryl “Squaro Edge 12” bath tub.
To emphasize the colorful elegance of the space in soft Nude with anthracite and copper accents, wall tiles in “Basalt” and “Smoke” grays were chosen from Villeroy&Boch’s “Creative System 4.0” series combined with fine stoneware floor tiles with a concrete appearance to them from the “X-Plane” series. The separate guest toilets feature spacious washstands blend harmoniously with wall-mounted, rimless DirectFlush WCs from Villeroy&Boch’s “Venticello” bathroom collection. The overall impression is rounded out by rectangular wall tiles in calm color tones from the “White Poplar” and “Frozen Lake” series as well as bright gray fine stoneware floor tiles. In the new 20 x 60 centimeter format the gleaming stoneware wall tiles from the “Creative System 4.0” series, which won the German Design Council’s Iconic Award 2017: Interior Innovations, lend the room additional depth.
