Spa holidays at the boutique hotel
The four-star Swissôtel boutique hotel lies in the heart of Amsterdam’s historic quarter – directly on Dam Square and in walking distance from a large selection of restaurants, stores and museums. The neo-Romanesque style brick building was designed by the famous Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage.
The 111 guest rooms are luxuriously outfitted. In 2016, many of the bathrooms were completely renewed and a suite created. For the renovation, the hotel sourced products by Villeroy & Boch: Among others, bathtubs from the "Squaro Edge 12" range were selected, all of which feature whirlpool systems. The bathtubs are made of "Quaryl", a composite of natural quartz stone and acrylic resin. The material – developed by Villeroy & Boch – is robust, warm to the skin, and easy to clean.
For the toilets, "Subway 2.0" and the "Architectura" collection were chosen, both of which boast DirectFlush technology. Since these models have no inset rim, they can be cleaned very quickly and thoroughly. With a flush volume of maximum 4.5 liters, the water consumption is also comparatively low. The bathroom fittings are completed by elegant washstands from the "Loop&Friends" collection. (am)
