for Poltrona Frau
The furniture is classy, refined and superbly crafted, so the literature says. Roberto Lazzeroni’s “Nivola” consists of an armchair and a sofa, and with it Poltrona Frau is following the trend to smaller sets of seating. With a frame of dyed ash, the rounded sides give the ensemble a compact, light, indeed almost summery feel. And the contrast between well-crafted leather for the sides and backs and bright leather or fabric for the seats also serve to imbue the ensemble with an especially precious touch. Poltrona Frau describes this as a feminine, almost romantic air. Be that as it may, the leather-covered backrest is certainly far too beautiful to be pushed up against a wall. “Nivola” really insists on standing in the middle of the room. (tw)
