Innovative Textiles Duo
The exhibitors who will showcase their innovations to the industry come from around 50 different countries: At the Texprocess, companies will find the technologies relevant to them, for example the very latest machinery, systems, processes, and services for processing textiles – from design and visualization systems, cutting solutions, sewing machines, upholstery plant and equipment, or stitching and glueing solutions through to automation and robotics systems. Moreover, the 20th edition of the Techtextil trade fair will present the latest technical materials, functional textiles, nonwovens, and textile technologies. Those items that are especially exciting for the furniture and interior design industry include filling materials for furniture and mattresses, nonwovens, spacer fabrics, industrial sewing threads, upholstery fabrics with functional properties or coated textiles.
The range of textile innovations at the Techtextil is divided into 12 application areas including Buildtech and Hometech. In the latter area alone some 440 exhibitors are expected, who can be located in the overview of exhibitors.
At Techtextil Forum and Texprocess Forum, experts will provide insights into the latest topics in the industry: Talks, discussions and interactive events provide ample opportunity for chatting to researchers, developers, and users. Both trade fairs bestow innovation awards on significant, groundbreaking, and unconventional new developments or advancements in their respective areas.
Techtextil is featuring a new focus with the “Nature Performance” area. Located in the Fibers & Yarns product segment, everything in the new area revolves around natural, recyclable, or recycled materials with functional properties. The participating exhibitors will be showcasing both natural and bio-based fibers and materials. The focus is very much on their practical use in a wide range of different areas such as architecture or construction. The “Nature Performance” area of Techtextil will be a highly-regarded platform for sustainable innovations. As one Canadian exhibitor sees it, the trade fair can open the door to new business relations with those firms and individuals who are most interested in sustainable textile innovations. “There is enormous potential for natural fibers, and it is vital that these high-performance, eco-friendly solutions are made widely available, so Techtextil is definitely a good place to hook up to a large network of proactive suppliers.”
The “Future Materials” exhibition by FranklinTill will be on display in the same area of Hall 9.1. The show created by the futures research agency amounts to an insight into the current state of regenerative design: A materials library with a global focus will showcase state-of-the-art textiles, successful methods, and progressive projects and as such opens up new perspectives for products, partnerships, and networks.
The Nature Performance area with the special Future Materials show is part of the Econogy offering that Messe Frankfurt has introduced for its global textile events. Anyone with a general interest in sustainability topics can use this label as a guide: The icon reliably directs visitors to exhibitors with sustainable offerings. The latter can also be found in an online directory (Econogy Finder). The Econogy program includes talks (Econogy Talks), which are held in Hall 9.1 and feature top-class speakers, as well as Econogy Tours in which independent experts offer a tour of exhibitors with sustainable offerings, not to mention the Econogy Best Practice special shows which display recycled and recyclable materials, fibers, and yarns.
