Arper
“Steeve Lou”
Design: Jean-Marie Massaud
Jury statement: The freestanding sofa “Steeve Lou” rests on a single T-leg. The upholstery, which is particularly comfortable thanks to new upholstery foam technologies combined with an ergonomic seat depth and high backrests, contrasts with this airy base. There is a touch of retro in the air, and yet the design creates its own handwriting, which is further emphasized by the exchangeable upholstery covers and the complementary footstools, side tables and laptop cushions. In the interest of sustainability, the collection can be completely disassembled.
Richard Lampert
“OneTwo”
Design: Steffen Kehrle
Jury statement: “OneTwo” by Steffen Kehrle for Richard Lampert is a sculptural object that offers two mirror surfaces on different levels. By setting the upper mirror area a few centimeters back, it either offers the usual function or a separation into two scenarios, depending on its position, which take up space and reflection in an exciting interplay. Moreover, an additional flap can be selected for the 60 x 30 centimeter version and the folded metal frame is available in four colors. With this great variety and minimal use of materials, “OneTwo” is a successful example of well-thought-out, contemporary design.
Ligne Roset
“Noka”
Design: Sebastian Herkner
Jury statement: “Noka” by Sebastian Herkner for Ligne Roset combines many contrasts into a harmonious whole: inspired by traditional country houses of the same name in Japan and the passarelles in Venice, the sofa is a plateau of generous comfort. The tapered legs are padded and form a single unit with the cover of the furniture. The airy effect of the frame is emphasized by the surrounding piping. The covers are equally eye-catching: inspired by natural structures and landscapes, “Noku” creates new perspectives in every respect.
Pedrali
“Philía”
Design: Odo Fioravanti
Statement of the jury: The stackable outdoor collection “Philía” by Odo Fioravanti brings the Dolce Vita of the 60s to life in a new way. The shape of the tubular steel structure is refreshingly clear, while the extruded PVC fabric with a nylon core is artfully woven horizontally to create a central crossover that guarantees elasticity and strength. A transversal band on the seat and backrest embraces the body and provides further stability. The option of choosing a single color for the frame and weave, or a different natural shade for each, also provides a way to express individuality.
Artemide
“Criosfera”
Design: Giulia Foscari
Statement of the jury: Giulia Foscari was inspired by polar research for her “Criosfera” series of lamps. Resembling a drill core in its aesthetics, “Criosfera” captures the splendor of the “eternal ice” for Artemide – and becomes an object that celebrates the beauty of the Antarctic with great craftsmanship. The spherical optics are thus incorporated into the hot glass, which is then mouth-blown. The aluminum body, through which the light shines, remains hidden in the lamp body. “Criosfera” can be placed in three holders and is a poetic object in every variant, arousing curiosity and enriching the room.
Paola Lenti
“Santorini”
Design: Francesco Rota
Jury statement: With “Santorini”, Francesco Rota has designed a modular outdoor sofa for Paola Lenti that can be combined into unconventional sofa landscapes. The central element is a round stool that connects the generous seating surfaces and allows them to be individually aligned. The round or rectangular side tables, which can be attached to the construction of the couch, are also practical. Made of multiplex wood and finished with a water-based coating, they are very robust. Thanks to the versatile selection of removable covers and an elegant shape, “Santorini” can also be used indoors if required.
Bauwerk Parkett
“Spinpark”
Design: Atelier Oi
Statement of the jury: Thanks to a new cutting technique, the “Spinpark” collection by architecture and design studio atelier oï in cooperation with Bauwerk Parkett offers a new, extraordinary design for real wood floors. The grain of the wood is turned 45 degrees to the plank - a twist that creates a great deal of creative freedom. “Spinpark” can be laid in twelve different ways, thus simplifying previously complex processes such as the popular Chevron look, which can now be achieved with a parallel installation.
Expormim
“Cask”
Design: Norm Architects
Statement of the jury: With “Cask”, Norm Architects have taken the classic aesthetic of rattan structures and translated it into a new expression: the powder-coated aluminum tubes run in a longitudinal oval shape, creating a clear effect while providing a base for the cloud-like upholstery that promises maximum comfort. To enjoy this, four positions and a wide selection of structured outdoor textiles are available.
Gumpo
“YAY” & ”OHH”
Design: RELVÃOKELLERMANN
Jury statement: Ana Relvão and Gerhardt Kellermann have expanded their collection with two extraordinary pieces of upholstered furniture: the yay chair, a compact upholstered chair with an original backrest, and the ohh seating family, based on a compact, upholstered seat shell. The radical design of the yay chair, a real statement piece, draws all eyes through its presence alone. By contrast, the ohh family is discreet and reserved, with a compact, upholstered seat shell. This versatile seating family can be used in a range of different settings and also looks harmonious when combined.
Brunner
“Wave”
Design: jehs+laub
Statement of the jury: With the new table collection “wave”, Brunner offers elegance and functionality for office and conference areas as well as high-quality hospitality areas. The design is a testament to technical finesse, which makes it possible to realize individual designs. The steel construction is magnetic and behind the exchangeable covers, the electrification can be ideally hidden. In addition, the table legs are available in a variety of high-quality finishes. “Wave” offers high quality in every respect and sets new standards in terms of exclusivity for dining and hospitality.
Lodes
“Random Stick”
Design: Chia-Ying Lee
Jury statement: With “Random Stick”, the successful “Random” series by Lodes has been horizontally expanded, once again demonstrating the expertise of the Venetian family business: a decorative lighting solution with high functionality. The numerous versions, which result from the possible combinations of the colors of the rods and spheres, allow a wide range of characters and lighting effects to be created. The diffused lighting from the spheres is complemented by a directional light that gives the pendant lamp a new function in the series: the lighting expert has placed LEDs on the underside of the rod to provide ideal illumination of a surface below.
AXOR
“AXOR ShowerSelect ID”
Design: Phoenix Design
Statement of the jury: The new "AXOR ShowerSelect ID" ready-to-install set impresses with intuitive operation, for which all visible components can be customized to suit your own ideas. The grooved thermostat handle supports the setting of the temperature in small, precise steps via tactile and auditory feedback, and the desired amount of water can be set using an additional controller. Up to four connections can be combined on the plate below, with each button representing a consumer, be it a hand shower or the spray type. Provided with lasered symbols, they are activated by simply pressing them.
Basalte
“Rondo"
Jury statement: With ‘Rondo’, the Belgian company for sophisticated home technology presents a collection of design loudspeakers that can be adapted to their surroundings in terms of size and material. The fine, handcrafted frames in brushed black, satin-finished white, polished aluminum and anodized aluminum as well as brass-plated objects look like works of art. The upholstery fabrics by Gabriel or Kvadrat also contribute to this. Arranged individually or in groups, different visual and acoustic spaces can be created for a wide range of scenarios. The optional lighting for the largest version rounds off the atmospheric properties of “Rondo”.
Rieder
“luce silver”
Jury statement: The “luce silver” texture is a highlight in Rieders diverse range. The panels get a shimmering look from a glimmer additive. Depending on the sunlight, the particles are reflected differently and create unique effects. At the same time, the robust fiberglass concrete elements are comparatively light, extremely durable and fire resistant. With easy installation and low maintenance, the material also impresses with its durability. With a tested lifespan of more than fifty years, the elements do not need to be sanded or painted. This not only conserves resources, but also makes an important contribution to saving energy.
Object Carpet
“DUO” (technology)
Statement of the jury: Object Carpet's proprietary ‘DUO’ technology is revolutionizing the production of high-quality floor coverings and designer carpets. High-quality polyamide and polyester, bonded by a 100 percent polyester hot-melt adhesive, are the only components of this innovative carpet. After use, both components can be separated from each other by applying targeted heat and reintroduced into the recycling loop. Thanks to click/unclick technology, the two components can be completely separated. The coating process takes place without the use of water or gas, which means a high level of energy savings. The entire product range is to be converted to “DUO” technology by 2026.
COR
“Echo”
Design: Lukas Heintschel
Jury statement: With “Echo”, the young designer Lukas Heintschel has developed a design for COR that charmingly references nature: available in three sizes, the side tables offer a harmonious overall work of art: the column-shaped base is covered with fabric or leather as desired and is also lightly padded. The round tabletop is edged with a strip of fabric, creating a seamless transition. The glass tabletop, which is lacquered in a matching color, gently shimmers on top of it in the light – an attractive contrast in the material that draws everyone's attention.
Cleaf
“Sbalzo”
Jury statement: The geometric, vertically aligned pattern of “Sbalzo” is inspired by traditional woodworking with chisels and hammers: Cleaf has translated the fine textures that craftsmen notch into the material into an abstract, symmetrical sequence. Available as a coated board, laminate and edge, as well as in a wide range of colors, “Sbalzo” is suitable for any desired use. With “Sbalzo”, architects, interior designers and planners have another exciting product at their disposal to create inspiring spaces.
S•CAB
“Malvasia”
Design: Francesca Lanzavecchia
Jury statement: The finely perforated shell of the “Malvasia” outdoor chair, designed by Francesca Lanzavecchia for Italian manufacturer S-CAB, casts vegetative shadow patterns and offers a comfortable seat for both outdoors and indoors. The backrest and seat are created from a single rolled and perforated piece and then welded to the tubular frame in a barely visible way. A complex undertaking that pushes the material to the limits of its flexibility. The legs follow the curve of the backrest, giving the piece of furniture a supporting line. The detailed, curved design of “Malvasia” is reminiscent of the lively atmosphere on the Mediterranean and can be customized in eight colors.
Materia
“Etage”
Design: Marie Oscarsson
Statement of the jury: The new “Etage” meeting table from the Kinnarps brand Materia offers a flexible solution for modern room concepts. With a variety of finishes and matching accessories, such as a sound-absorbing table screen made of quilted fabric, the design offers numerous possibilities for customization. Thanks to aesthetic components such as rounded edges, rounded sockets and the option of integrating lights and plants using an elbow, “Etage” always looks harmonious in a room. The design thus provides an ideal basis for the modern working world, where dynamic solutions are in demand.
Bonaldo
“Flatiron”
Design: Mauro Lipparini
Jury statement: With its compact form, the “Flatiron” table is perfect for designing exclusive workplaces as well as representative dining and living areas. Two sides in brushed bronze or brushed lead are asymmetrically set into an organically curved solid wood top in walnut or oak – the sculptural form of the design is accentuated by this contrast of materials, which, in the extension of the foot, fulfills not only an aesthetic but also a practical function: a recess there serves as a cable hole. With “Flatiron”, Bonaldo is emphasizing its aim of offering furniture that can be used to efficiently and elegantly design working and living environments.
