For all those who don’t like the idea of abseiling in the Alps, but still have a penchant for ropes: the new table by Moormann, called “Seiltänzer” – rope dancer.

Despite being tightly wound inside, it is rather agile. After all, as a rope dancer, balancing above the breezy void, “Seiltänzer” has to be flexible – even though it is a table. The newest member of the Moormann family has four slender steel legs that ensure a firm stand and stable balance, while the taut rope connects the legs firmly to the tabletop. This rope dancer likes to poise in kitchens, dining rooms and offices, and even makes an appearance as a coffee table. And because it marches to a different tune, it does not just come in a square or rectangular format, but can in fact be extended in all directions when connected with other tables.

The rope, made from polyester fibers, comes in red or black; the legs are made of steel that is hardened using a special process and then waxed, making it impervious to fingerprints and giving it a velvety feel. The tabletops come in a choice of untreated ash and birch plywood, and customers can choose between linoleum or laminate surfaces.

Finally, it must be said that you by no means need to live in Upper Bavaria to take pleasure in such a rope dancer. And you won’t need mountains of cash to buy one, either. (tw)
