Pedrali 2024: PHILÍA

"Philía" is a collection of outdoor seating furniture by Pedrali that celebrates the traditional Italian garden chair and the enjoyment of extended outdoor gatherings. For the first time, its designer Odo Fioravanti was inspired rather by a feeling, than by nature or geometrics – although the collection’s shape also reflects on both of them. The feeling was the one he has, seeing families, friends – "Philoi" in Greek – and neighbours gathering at a bar around the corner: the pleasure of being together. Therefore, he has paired appealing aesthetics with a high level of comfort and a robust construction. The chair and armchair are available in classic colours such as terracotta and green and can be combined in monochrome or with a different coloured frame. Long comfort is guaranteed by a characteristic tubular steel structure around which a PVC cord is woven. The horizontal weave crosses in the centre and generates ergonomic elasticity that embraces the body. Pedrali is thus expanding its wide portfolio with a versatile piece of furniture that can also be stacked in both versions – in case the get-together comes to an ending. (eb)
