Kaleidoscopic café
Moleskine, the Italian manufacturer of notebooks and diaries, was not interested in opening another store. Instead it transformed the sales space in Milan into a colorful mix of café, store, gallery and library. The diverse concept was also intended to be reflected in the interior, with chairs and stools from the Nemea and Malmö collections by Pedrali with upholstered seats in turquoise, mustard yellow and magenta. The chairs’ quality wood lends a natural touch to the spacious premises. Moreover, the welcoming form of the backrests makes the gray and white interior cozier without disrupting the deliberately minimalist atmosphere. The furniture by Pedrali creates a place of creativity and relaxation. Furthermore, the items can be stacked, meaning the seating can also be quickly rearranged for the regular discussion rounds and teaching events that are held there. The tables Laja, Malmö and Ypsilon by Pedrali form suitable counterparts with their clear lines and neutral colors.
For the outside area Moleskine opted for the seemingly airy chairs “Nolita,” which add a lively splash of color in light blue, yellow and mint green. (am)
