Bouroullecs' seating circles
Each of the four objects for seating that Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec have designed under the title of “Oui” creates its own special mood. The installations are to be found in the park of the Kunsthal Aarhus in Denmark, which has been redesigned by architect Kristine Jensen and which now links the museum to the city.
Each of the four permanent installations consists of a raised ring of galvanized that can comfortably seat a larger number of people. Two of the rings surround a tree trunk each and create spaces to withdraw to. A third ring boasts a luminaire on a long mast, which casts a cone of light into the circle and thus creates a warmly illuminated island at night. In the fourth installation there is a fire place in the middle, complete with smoke extractor – a contemporary interpretation of camp fires for casual get-togethers. (fap)
