Orgatec 2024: GUMPO
As an industrial company with a high level of custom manufacturing expertise, gumpo always knows how to surprise and revolutionised the industry in 2018 with the ‘Normcore’ concept from RelvãoKellermann. With its trade fair appearance at Orgatec 2024, the Lower Bavarian company wants to position itself even more clearly as a flexible and efficient manufacturing partner for ambitious planning offices and interior designers. The stage for the products is neutral in the sense of a white cube and leaves room for the design to have maximum impact. It also encourages people to visualise the furniture in individual contexts. The large portfolio includes system furniture as well as customised solutions and demonstrates the high level of expertise in the processing of wood and panel materials. In total, gumpo will cover an area of 187 square metres.
This year, two new products will be presented by designers Ana Relvão and Gerhardt Kellermann, who also accompany gumpo as creative directors: The ‘yay’ chair and the ‘ohh’ seating family. After ‘pony’, a combination of seat and table in many colours, ‘yay’ and ‘ohh’ are two further seating designs that are very different: ‘yay’ attracts attention with its exciting proportions and characteristic backrest. ‘ohh’, on the other hand, is a restrained but cleverly designed family of seating furniture. Despite their differences, they harmonise wonderfully with each other. While ‘ohh’ is also equipped with a resilient wooden core and a flexible backrest, ‘yay’ guarantees a high level of seating comfort with an upholstered tubular steel frame. ‘The core concept of gumpo furniture is both adaptability and versatility. So we have maintained the direction of the brand and created seating elements that can be used in a variety of situations,’ says RelvaoKellermann. Production takes place entirely in Germany – sustainably developed down to the last detail and always in the high quality that you have come to expect from gumpo.
