"Oblò" by Paola Navone – Otto Studio

LODES

The filigree pendant lights that Paola Navone – Otto Studio has designed for Lodes appear almost weightless. For the presentation of the new "Oblò" collection, the designer also turned the Lodes showroom in Milan into a setting that draws a Mediterranean scene in terms of colours, shapes and light.

The view from Via della Moscova to the presentation at number 33 is like looking through portholes: with red and white striped elements, architect and designer Paola Navone references the pattern of beach huts, between which she has arranged her new "Oblò" lighting family. The glass bodies shimmer as clear as water. Available in three sizes and five versions, they are knotted to the cable in a nautical style – a link to the ropes that are attached to buoys and at the same time an eye-catching type of power supply concealed in the knot. The LED light source is also discreet, allowing a view through the gently rounded glass diffuser. Individually staged, the luminaire creates an ethereal point of light; in a playful cluster, "Oblò" is reminiscent of rising water bubbles, shimmering in metallic blue or silky white, smoky and transparent.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Paola Navone – Otto Studio on this new lamp, furthering Lodes’ portfolio to seamlessly integrate with a wide range of environments. The flexibility inherent in Oblò, in terms of compositions and finishes, will be vividly articulated by the designer through a stunning colourful installation during Milan Design Week, hosted at Lodes’ Milan showroom" says Massimiliano Tosetto, Lodes Managing Director.
