PREVIEW – STYLEPARK LIGHT + BUILDING
Dynamically connected
Numerous flexible luminaires and systems for indoor and outdoor situations will be on show at Light + Building 2024 in Frankfurt am Main: "Future-proof lighting solutions must be able to be dynamically adapted to individual requirements," says Johannes Möller, Head of Light + Building. The ability to freely change the use of space also requires flexible adaptation of the lighting – from the office to public areas and living spaces. The quality of the lighting concept is equally important for people's well-being and performance as well as for energy efficiency. The lighting designer Ulrike Brandi is well aware of this: "An innovative lighting concept is inspired by nature and incorporates natural phenomena such as variations in daylight and circadian rhythms," she says. And adds: "I think that good design should always combine technology and aesthetics. Technology influences the design of lighting concepts in a good way if it remains appropriate and doesn't overwhelm us. By taking a balanced approach to lighting concepts based on natural phenomena and incorporating our perception, harmonious indoor and outdoor spaces are created."
The diverse range of exhibiting companies at Light + Building offers the opportunity to familiarise yourself with various lighting functions and engage in a creative exchange with experts. Unique designs, environmentally conscious productions and sustainable concepts provide inspiration. Visitors can also discover pioneering system solutions for energy efficiency and energy management in buildings, find out about smart building automation and learn more about integrated security technology.
"From the very beginning, Light + Building has represented light as well as building technology. The design of applications in buildings, the integrated technology and in particular the use of light influence the architecture and the spatial experience in a building or public space in equal measure. Of course, the importance of high-quality design has also increased for technical applications in recent years and lighting solutions incorporate innovative technology. This development is at the centre of the Designplus Award by Light + Building, which we present in cooperation with Stylepark. For many years now, an independent jury of experts has been selecting the most outstanding products in terms of design, technology and layout from the large number of entries. We then exhibit the award-winning products in a special show in the foyer of hall five for the entire duration of the trade fair," says Johannes Möller. With the additional category "Sustainable Exhibition Stand", Messe Frankfurt is also honouring companies with the Designplus Award for the first time this year that have integrated and implemented the topic of sustainability as a key component of their stand concept and promote environmental responsibility in connection with trade fairs.
The international industry meeting place in Frankfurt am Main will show how sustainability, aesthetics and functionality can be combined to create an impressive ensemble – from individual luminaires to smart systems: "Our exhibitors will present innovative solutions for current topics such as efficient energy utilisation, individual comfort enhancement and holistic safety. What moves the industry is also reflected in the programme of our major platforms for knowledge transfer. These include the Building Plaza in Hall 9.0, the ZVEI Technology Forum in Hall 12.1 and the Design Plaza in Hall 3.1. As there are many other attractive programme highlights, it's definitely worth taking a look at our extensive event calendar," says Johannes Möller.
