To address this challenging situation König + Neurath has developed the “Net.Work.Place Wave” lounge system: It features modules that can either be positioned singly or combined as desired. Thanks to the range of armchairs with different backrest heights or seating landscapes in all kinds of shapes there are no limits to the creativity of architects and planners. Moreover, the modular structure means the seating landscape can also be adapted both as a linear and an organic shape.
The manufacturer of office furniture and room systems based in Karben, just outside Frankfurt, has paid attention to every detail in the structure of the lounge system: All the components can be combined with one another and just as easily detached. This means entire modules or covers can be replaced or repair work done to them. What’s more, a change of style is likewise easy to achieve. Thanks to the plug-in system individual seat cushions can be flexibly replaced with storage elements. The result is a seating landscape which is both practical and has a harmonious appearance. The bases are available in different versions such as solid wood or tubular steel in various colors, round and square tubing as well as well as different types of feet – with or without castors. The design allows the seating landscape to be altered quickly and the covers can also be easily changed thanks to the Velcro fastenings. The challenge for architects and planner lies more in making a choice between all the different cozy fabric structures for the covers. König + Neurath has also come up with a smart idea for upholstered elements used in heavily frequented areas: a curtain system in different transparencies provides visual screening, reduces noise in lively zones and thus ensures better concentration. "Net.Work.Place" also delivers a high level of seating comfort.
The modular design provides flexibility and ensures a long life for the seating system; in fact, every single component can be replaced if need be. All the elements of the lounge series are made of certified materials that are manufactured in Germany and can be recycled – including the recyclable upholstery 40 percent of whose molded foam is made from recycled material.
