Design inclusively
The design for the wooden chair "RARE" by NC Nordic Care shows straight shapes and a structure that meets the high functionality required in care environments. Stable and extended armrests help the seated person to stand up safely and thus support their independence. Thanks to its low weight, "RARE" can also be quickly moved into position and lifted up. Optional castors are also available. The back cushion of "RARE" can be moved if necessary, just as both covers for the seat and back can be easily removed for cleaning. The complete structure of the chair is straightforward, provides support without being restrictive and offers a neutral, modern design in parallel.
FSC-certified birch was selected for the elongated pieces of wood with rounded edges that form the robust structure of "RARE" - including its natural characteristics, such as slight colour changes or knotholes. NC Nordic Care uses the whole tree as a resource and thus impressively shows how easy it is to avoid unnecessary waste of wood. For the Kinnarps brand, the quality of life of the people to be cared for and the working environment of the caregivers are equally important, and so "RARE" serves the efficient use of space and supports the quality of life of the patients. With "RARE", NC Nordic Care has created a robust, practical and shapely wooden chair that helps to plan health-promoting care environments in a holistic way. The Kinnarps Group also offers the "Next Care" needs analysis, which identifies individual requirements for efficient use of space and develops a customised offer for this.
