“Click'n clean®” is the name of the mechanism, for which Kaldewei has applied for a patent, that is behind the minimalist design of the new shower channel. Christian Büttner, responsible for innovation and portfolio, had a major hand in its development: “As a trained industrial designer, it was important to me to take a new approach to the shower channel that puts the user first. In the absence of satisfactory solutions, we formulated our goal: cleaning should be easier, it should work without tools, so that the hair trap can be cleaned daily. We also wanted the product semantics to be recognizable as classic. That's why we integrated the self-explanatory button that lifts the cover with the hair trap. The entire component can then be removed with a single hand movement and cleaned by beating it out or under the tap.”

With this technical development, Kaldewei is setting new standards in terms of functionality and ergonomics. But since its foundation in 1918, the family-owned company has never just been committed to functionality: for the new product, the manufacturer, which produces in Germany, worked with its trusted partner Studio Aisslinger. Christian Büttner explains the further process: “We then developed the shape with the people involved from Studio Aisslinger. Every premium product must first function perfectly, for example in terms of drainage performance, cleaning and integration into the building. In addition, we wanted to create an independent design that reflects the quality in various surface finishes, and a new aesthetic that also bears the signature of our brand.”

FlowLine Zero” is straightforward and the clear, discreet look harmonizes with almost every floor material in the modern bathroom. With five surfaces, flexible positioning in the shower and seamless adjustment of the standard lengths, the optimal, long-term solution can be found for every bathroom situation. ”Kaldewei's aim is to design aesthetically pleasing products in a surprising way and with new uses. In this respect, I make sure that we don't drift into styling, but create long-lasting products. With 'Click'n clean®', we have developed a system that everyone understands and that brings a relevant improvement, whether in a rented apartment, a home of one's own or in a hotel,” says Christian Büttner.
