In Smallspace Gallery in Berlin architect and artist Michael Hansmeyer is currently exhibiting a series of images he has entitled "Platonic Solids". The crystallin seemingly shapes in the images are the result of complex geometric algorithms. The structures, calculated by means of computer programs, are accordingly fractal and organic. For all the computed nature of the structures, the results are surprising. Thus the mathematical ratios contrast with the vibrancy of the forms that they have generated. Hansmeyer consciously transposes the creative process onto the computer.
