Praise be the compartment

For analog or digital work “Bureau” by Rachel Griffin for Schönbuch
12/21/2016

When we first saw the “Bureau” desk by Rachel Griffin we thought the post-digital era was about to start: no laptop, no desk lamp, no leads. But far from it. Rachel Griffin, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, has simply concealed the electrical and digital accessories well – by adding a compartment containing two power outlets.

Whether you work with paper and ink or computer and mouse, the desk looks tidy. Just as intended. After all, for coat stand specialist Schönbuch for whom “Bureau” is its first ever desk, tidiness makes life so much easier. The bench to go with it comes in two widths, 75 or 200 cm. Like the desk both are made of solid wood with an opaque varnish. (mm)
