STYLEPARK IMM COLOGNE 2022
365 days a year
"The upcoming imm cologne is all about positioning – for us as a trade fair organiser, for the German furniture industry and for the entire sector. But it is not just about how dynamically we start 2022," says Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management at Koelnmesse, about imm cologne 2022, which will be held in Cologne from January 17 to 23. Approximately 600 companies from 51 countries are expected to attend, which once again underscores the importance of the furniture fair as a global industry platform – especially in view of the difficult general conditions. "We are facing major challenges that also present enormous opportunities. With this in mind, I see the number of exhibitors at imm cologne 2022 as a good starting position for a successful relaunch. I’m firmly convinced that imm cologne is the ideal platform for the industry to design tomorrow’s living spaces together," says Matthias Pollmann.
In the run-up to the event, Koelnmesse has developed numerous security measures in accordance with the requirements of the Corona Protection Ordinance and in close coordination with the authorities. Currently, imm cologne 2022 is now spread over nine halls: "Pure", the format for design quality, will take place in Halls 11.1, 11.2, 2.2, 3.2. and will be complemented by Hall 4.2, where the "Connect" format will present new solutions for digital living. The "Home" format for furnishing solutions with a lifestyle character, which can be found in Halls 10.1, 10.2, 5.2, Halls 6, 7 as well as Hall 9, will be a focal point of the trade fair. In addition, a special centerpiece of the fair will be given a new stage: For the "Das Haus" project, three designers are developing three stories about life and living in the future, which will manifest themselves in the form of an "Apartment HAUS". For this, the imm cologne was able to win Luca Nichetto, Sebastian Herkner and Studio Truly Truly. "Visions of ‘Das Apartment HAUS’ is a homage to ‘Das Haus’. The basic concept of presenting design solutions for contemporary living in apartments and co-living spaces remains. It’s an exciting and important topic that we’re determined to drive forward," says Dick Spierenburg, Creative Director of imm cologne, about the concept.
In addition to the trade fair, the imm cologne is also launching a new content format: The so-called "TRENDimmPACT" will be published several times a year in the future and will deal with the social, political and cultural framework conditions in the furniture industry. Different trends and their potential will be analyzed. With examples such as start-up ideas, product innovations or material developments as well as discussions with designers, manufacturers and experts from various fields, insights into the future of design will be offered. The first topic will be sustainability. The format is part of the "imm cologne 365" concept, the aim of which is to offer content and its communication not only during the trade fair, but throughout the year. This allows companies to present their product highlights to an interested audience and to exchange information in a targeted manner via the platform 365 days a year.
