Gumpo 2024: "YAY" & "OHH"

Ana Relvão and Gerhardt Kellermann have created two new seating pieces for Gumpo with characters that couldn't be more different, but nevertheless make a harmonious duo.

With a backrest in the shape of a ypsilon, the fully upholstered ‘yay’ chair attracts everyone's attention: its unusual structure makes ‘yay’ an eye-catching statement. Placed at the table, the two upper ends of the chair peek over the top – a charming reference to the little wink that RelvãoKellermann designs with. ‘ohh’, on the other hand, shows a restrained family of seating furniture: the substructure consists of coated wooden panels, the components of which offer a flexible modular system for many variations: From a low chair to a high chair to a bench with up to three seats, it can be customised as required. A swivel chair option is also possible.

The bendable backrest, resilient wooden core and fully upholstered seat shell ensure a high level of comfort at all times. Although fundamentally different, both designs function both as stand-alone pieces and as a team, demonstrating a refreshingly different approach that combines opposites into a harmonious whole. The upholstery work and the production of the required substructures are entirely carried out in Germany. (am)
