Gloster 2024: DECK
With the "Deck" lounge furniture, a symbiosis of function and aesthetics is presented by Gloster: Two metre long teak slats with rounded edges form a generous surface when placed next to each other at a constant distance. The substructure has the same structure with vertically positioned slats, so that the visual transition appears seamless. Only the height of the base frames differentiates between the seating units, the ottoman, the coffee table and the sofa tables. Inspired by a ship's deck, the structure can be used flexibly: Individually complemented with upholstery and back cushions, "Deck" is an ideal platform for both formal and informal get-togethers.
The charm of the natural material and the perfect craftsmanship refer to Gloster's strong roots, which date back to 1960, when the furniture manufacturer was founded in West Africa. "For me, design must have meaning. Shape, colour and choice of material need to complement each individual design. Good design is functional, beautiful and easy to understand," says Henrik Pedersen. Thanks to the high fibre density of the wood, "Deck" also withstands changes in the weather: Be it strong sunlight or persistent rain - the lounge furniture is extremely durable.
