The Euroluce International Lighting Forum will take place on 10 and 11 April 2025 at the Euroluce presentation area and is to offer a multifaceted programme: These include the plan to create space for discussions on the most relevant topics in lighting design, such as the culture of light. Among the invited guests are the artist duo ‘Drift’, lighting designer A.J. Weissbard and solar designer Marjan van Aubel. The extensive programme will also offer workshops and exhibitions. ‘The idea is to promote the culture of light, to be aware that using the right light makes us feel better,’ says Carlo A. Urbinati-Ricci, President of FederlegnoArredo, the Italian Federation of Woodworking, Cork, Furniture, Lighting and Furnishing Industries. He adds: "Light not only makes things appear, it also creates atmospheres, depths and perceptions capable of interpreting architectures and open spaces, as in a pentagram. The role of the designer is increasingly similar to that of the conductor of an orchestra, who does not just execute a score, but gives a personal interpretation of it."

Under the direction of Sandra Hofmeister, editor-in-chief of Detail Magazine, Carlo A. Urbinati-Ricci, designers Stefan Diez as well as Simon Schmitz and lighting designer Carla Wilkins, board member of IALD and senior partner of Lichtvision Design, also discussed the status quo of the industry. The immense importance of sustainable design focussed on the essentials, such as the threshold-free provision of high-quality lighting, also received a spotlight. A common conclusion was that the industry needs a clear goal in view of the current times of upheaval and uncertainty. This should also involve a collaborative change to familiar patterns: ‘The industry offers products that fit into a circular economy, but we still sell them linearly,’ said Stefan Diez. And he continues: ‘The Salone is a stage where you can take a look into the future and hold high-quality discussions.’

The upcoming Euroluce is set to continue the success of 2023 and emphasise the importance of light in our lives: "Following the first transformation of Euroluce that we set in motion at the previous edition, rethinking the exhibition layout, we are proud to present another important innovation, this time concerning the content of the exhibition. Light is, incontrovertibly, an increasingly integral part of our lives. As a place where ideas and visions that lead to dialogue intersect, laying fertile ground for innovation, the Forum reflects the DNA of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, which has always been a generator and bearer of new ideas and formats for tackling contemporary challenges." says Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.

With a view to the Salone del Mobile in its entirety, a full capacity utilisation of Halls 1 to 24 is planned, with Halls 2, 4, 6 and 10 offering a large area for the Euroluce presentations and the new Euroluce International Lighting Forum. The SaloneSatellite will next year be located in Halls 13 and 15.
