In cooperation with photographer Marc Krause and set stylist Stilema Studio, the pop-up exhibition ‘Reflecting’ has been created for Decor Walther, showing new ways of presenting products during Milan Design Week. Marc Krause wants to make the creation process visible in the design and places the interior accessories for the bathroom and living area in an unusual context: a small haberdashery shop provides the stage in Milan, video and Polaroid the medium, the analogue aesthetics of the photographs a combination of retro and contemporary. For the show, Decor Walther products are presented together with other everyday objects, in some cases in a vacuum, which makes the dialogue between proximity and distance visible and encourages reflection. The result is an unaffected still life of everyday life. ‘We see the pop-up as a continuation of a new look at our presentation on a very conceptual level. Like the pictures, it reflects the dialogue between closeness and distance,’ says Henry Walther, owner of Decor Walther.

On display are the collections ‘OF.LINE’ by Sebastian Herkner, ‘Pinch’ by Isenia Spatola and the ‘Century’, ‘Club’, ‘Corner’ and ‘Kristall’ series – discreet pieces of jewellery for the room. ‘We regularly ask ourselves how we manage to make the special features of our products visible in photography or presentation. The answer was usually: To allow their character, characterised by form, materiality and surface, to shine visually. Reflection as an expression of purity and refinement. But also symbolically – quality as a reflection of one's own aspirations and character. The pictures are not the answer, they pose new questions,’ says Henry Walther. (am)
