Featured Preview – Milan Design Week 2022
COR
For around seven decades, the family-run company COR has been manufacturing furniture that is shipped from its headquarters in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in North Rhine-Westphalia for international projects. All components, such as the leather from southern Germany and the upholstery from Italy, are thus assembled and tested in COR's factory according to the highest standards of craftsmanship. The young and smart designs of designers and studios such as RelvãoKellermann, Studio Pauline Deltour or Jehs+Laub characterise the programme – an excerpt of which can be experienced during Milan Design Week in the showroom in the Brera district: COR will provide a perfect stage there for "Jalis21" and "Jalis Lounge" by Jehs+Laub, among others. While "Jalis21" combines lush cushion shapes to create a sofa that is unrivalled in terms of comfort and provides these with fine decorative stitching, in the case of "Jalis Lounge" the duo have created an armchair whose soft cushions flow into the gentle curves of the side rests and back. In addition, there are the all-rounders "Floater" for flexible working from the pen of Pauline Deltour, lounge modules such as sofas and armchairs that are equipped with storage space, desk and storage areas. The French designer also created the "Noto" armchair for COR, which offers a purist design language with rectangular surfaces and a dead-straight outer seam, from which one is very reluctant to get up again thanks to the softly sprung seat. Visitors to the Milan Design Week can take a seat from 6 to 12 June 2022 in the COR Showroom in Via Solferino 11. (am)
