Carpet Design Awards
It’s an eagerly awaited decision: who can convince the jury, made up of trend scouts, designers, industry experts and international interior designers, and secure one of the Carpet Design Awards? The highest international accolade for exquisite masterpieces from the world of modern hand-made carpets and rugs will be awarded at Innovations@DOMOTEX in Hannover in January 2017. Impressed by the diversity of creative approaches, the jury – this year featuring a new line-up – selected the best carpet creations in eight categories.

The designer makes subtle and sophisticated use of colour in her modern hand-made carpets. She has been an advocate of traditional carpet-making and a better standard of living in developing countries for many years.
Vanessa Brady, London

Vanessa Brady has been involved for over 30 years in interior design, e.g. as an author and speaker. She founded the Society of British and International Design and has received numerous awards.
Wilhard Kühne, Dogern

Wilhard Kühne has worked in the carpet industry for almost 40 years, mainly as a buyer actively creating ranges. He has continually developed his knowledge of knotting techniques by travelling to the countries in which they originated.

Abstract natural worlds play a central role in Saksi’s colourful work. He uses graphic design, textile art and installations to tell imaginative stories and also designs for brands such as Issey Miyake.
Hadi Teherani, Hamburg

From architecture to interior and product design, Teherani succeeds in creating compositions in which all the elements interact harmoniously. He develops innovative concepts for sustainable urban housing projects.
