Mediterranean elegance
Best location: Canale Hotel & Suites is located directly in the center of Argostoli. The capital of Kefalonia, a Greek island at the exit of the Gulf of Patras, is surrounded by water on three sides – a fact that can be experienced directly in the hotel rooms. Thus, the boutique hotel located on the harbor promenade offers a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and invites you to relax on large loggias. In designing the interiors, the architects combined minimalist elegance with Mediterranean nonchalance, for which furniture by Bonaldo was also used.
The hotel is composed of two abstract volumes with a gable roof. Large loggias are cut into the facade, behind which the hotel rooms are located. The dark roof acts like a protective shell over the white building structure and anchors the Canale Hotel & Suites to its location. In terms of materiality, the architects opted for a mixture of natural stone and wood in order to establish a relationship with the local architecture. Inside, the 4-star hotel, which has been in the family for several generations, then presents itself as a minimalist oasis where luxury and simplicity come together in a successful way.
For the interior design of the hotel rooms, the architects opted for the bed "Cuff" by Bonaldo, designed by Mauro Lipparini, which gives the reduced rooms an additional presence. "Cuff" is available with completely removable covers in fabric, leather or eco-leather. The bed is characterized by clean lines and precise details, which can be seen, among other things, in the fine workmanship of the vertical seams. The elegant pleating and the lace fastenings at both ends of the upholstered headboard bring a playful elegance to the hotel rooms, with the architects opting for leather covers in different colors to respond individually to each interior.
Then there is the "Eddy" armchair designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo, which can be found in many rooms of the Canale Hotel & Suites. The Belgian designer drew inspiration for his design from cycling and the traditional manufacture of racing bicycles. This is evident, among other things, in the use of metal tubes that form a minimalist metal frame in "Eddy," which is available in a variety of colors. In addition, there are different covers in fabric, leather or eco-leather, which allow for a variety of combinations. The armrests of the chair can be additionally equipped with side pockets for books and magazines. In this way, "Eddy" completes the interior design of the Canale Hotel & Suites, turning it into a relaxing oasis where Mediterranean flair and an elegant furnishing concept come together.
