At Brunner, design, function and aesthetics come together. The furniture manufacturer from Baden describes this as the Brunner triad, which is a common thread running through the company's portfolio. A good example of this is the newcomer "mudra", a shaped wooden chair that Brunner developed in collaboration with the Munich designer Stefan Diez. The aim was to add something new to the canon of forms and to design a piece of furniture that convinces with a clear design language and diverse application possibilities. To achieve this, 3D moulded wood technology with a high degree of production complexity was used, which allows the characteristic open loop shape of the backrest to be realised. Stefan Diez was inspired by baroque chair designs of the 17th century. At the same time, the name of the chair refers to the designation for symbolic hand gestures from Hinduism and Buddhism, in which the closed circle stands for a particularly good flow of energy.

At the Milan Design Week, Brunner is now presenting the result of its cooperation with Stefan Diez in its own showroom: located in the heart of the Italian trade fair city, in Via Palermo 21 of the Brera Design District, the company is exemplifying the Brunner triad. The shaped wooden chair is the prelude to the "mudra" furniture series of the same name and will be exhibited there from 6 to 12 June. Visitors will be able to see for themselves the quality, look, feel and, last but not least, the various options of the chair. For example, "mudra" is available with both a steel frame and a wooden frame, whereby the steel frame is stackable. It can therefore be used flexibly in various places such as cafeterias, canteens, restaurants or hotel lobbies and thus offers a multitude of possibilities, which can be viewed directly at the Milan Design Week.
