Everything always starts with a collage,” says Christy Cole, the male half of the Briggs & Cole design duo from Glasgow. Cole founded the company together with his partner Jane Briggs back in 2012. Since then, the two have been active in the fields of furniture design, graphics and design consultancy, and have together realized lighting projects. They print their collages, which always recount personal experiences or stories relating to the surroundings, on furniture, walls, wallpaper, textiles and other objects. At present, Briggs & Cole, who are also a twosome in their private lives, are working on a silk scarf called “No Line No Wave”, which they seek to present this winter in a show at the Graven Images design agency in Glasgow – and will then integrate into one of their future interior projects.
