For a grand entrance
With its elegant theatricality, the new dining table from Alain Gilles' pen embodies Bonaldo's signature. "The Louver dining table is all about perception and repetition. It has an architecture that gradually reveals itself and appears different depending on the angle of view," says the designer about his idea. Its silhouette is characterised by three parallel, diagonal legs that support a rectangular table top with rounded edges. "The three characteristic legs behave a little like vertical louvers. Depending on whether the base is viewed from the side or directly from the front, the legs appear either light or massive," describes Gilles. With the architectural design language, he wants to create the impression of an imaginary portal to an ancient temple, in which "the slightly curved and generous columns are gently touched by the sun", as he describes his inspiration for the "Louver Table".
By the same time, the naturalness of the diverse palette reflects the reference to the architecture of its form. Various types of wood, marble, ceramic can be combined with metal or wooden bases ("Louver Table Wood") for the multi-material version. The single-material version is available in hand-trowelled clay or with a wooden top and base. Manufactured in Italian workshops, Bonaldo's "Louver Table" offers the opportunity to furnish prestigious dining and living areas with a centrepiece full of character. (eb)
