Design Stories
With “AXOR MyEdition” AXOR is following the trend in individualization by presenting a collection with which users can give free rein to their own creativity. The principal behind it could not be simpler. The upper end of the flat, minimalist mixer created by Phoenix Design is topped off with a cover plate made of an individually chosen material. The materials available include Napa leather, mirrored glass, walnut or white Lasa marble. However, AXOR goes even further, offering users the opportunity to add their own, personal touch to their “AXOR MyEdition” mixer with the help of material experts.
This allows for a range of methods of self-expression that are almost limitless. This is something that AXOR would like to take account of. The brand, part of the Hansgrohe Group, is launching a nationwide competition throughout Germany whereby architects, interior designers, designers and bathroom planners are given the opportunity to design their own cover plate and to submit their design to the company. The sources of their inspiration can be as varied as the designs themselves – a special mood, a source of longing, a special place or a beautiful memory. Of course, the story behind each design is equally important, and accordingly, in preparation for the competition, AXOR has already quizzed reputed designers and architects such as Jean-Marie Massaud, Phoenix Design, Barber & Osgerby, Shirley Dong and Sigurdur Thorsteinsson about the places that fill them with longing.
Participants are invited to send in the graphic design for their own cover plate as an image, to formulate the idea behind it in a few sentences and to submit their entry by January 31, 2021. A qualified jury will then select three designs and present them on AXOR’s Facebook page. The AXOR community will then choose the best entry on the basis of the number of Likes received by the various designs. The winner will then receive an “AXOR MyEdition basin mixer” from the existing range and can choose from more than 225 combinations. The entrants who come second and third will also receive a surprise package. Moreover, the name of the winner will be published in the Stylepark magazine, meaning that he or she will be presented to an international community of design and architecture aficionados.

The jury will be composed of the following members:
