Solutions for the future
At this year's ISH, AXOR is presenting the AXOR ShowerSphere, a new overhead shower collection by Antonio Citterio, in line with the brand campaign ‘Escape the ordinary’. overhead shower collection by Antonio Citterio, which offers numerous variants for the design of luxury bathrooms. Exciting product extensions to the ‘AXOR One’ bathroom collection, designed by British design duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, will also be presented. Both new products combine functional and ecological aspects with the brand's typical design standards and the usual high manufacturing quality.
The ‘AXOR ShowerSphere’ shower programme by Antonio Citterio has an expressive design: a monolithic and elliptical base body with bevelled edges is complemented by a rosette and a shower arm with a minimalist soft-square look. There is also a shower jet with FlexPower technology: the system of flexible nozzles adapts to the different levels of water flow and pressure to optimise the jet performance and reduce the total water consumption from 12 to just 6 litres per minute. Despite the water-saving flow rate, the shower spray offers luxurious shower experiences such as the standard Rain spray or the gentle PowderRain spray for 2-spray variants.
The ‘AXOR ShowerSphere’ also enables a wide variety of shower solutions. These include a wall-mounted overhead shower with two spray types and a movable shower arm that ensures precise jet alignment. There are also several variants with a fixed shower arm. Examples include a ceiling-mounted 2-jet overhead shower, a ceiling-mounted 1-jet overhead shower in two sizes and a wall-mounted 1-jet overhead shower in two sizes. The entire programme is available in a large selection of ‘AXOR FinishPlus’ PVD surfaces.
Despite their design presence, the various products in the ‘AXOR ShowerSphere’ can be easily combined with the entire AXOR portfolio. This allows them to be flexibly integrated into different bathroom scenarios. Antonio Citterio summarises the result as follows: ‘The basic idea behind “AXOR ShowerSphere” was to develop a comprehensive product portfolio that offers a luxurious shower experience while saving water and covering a variety of needs. ‘AXOR ShowerSphere’ is born from the same ethos as my other designs for AXOR and can be combined with almost all AXOR collections. This means that the entire bathroom can be designed in a uniform design language, while at the same time fulfilling very different technical requirements.’
The ‘AXOR One collection’ from Barber Osgerby now includes a large number of products, which have now been expanded to include a new cross handle that mediates between tradition and modernity in terms of design. It expands the design repertoire and offers an alternative to the lever and Select handles that characterise the collection. It can now be used on the washbasin, bathtub and shower, which further increases the versatility of ‘AXOR One’, as Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby explain: ‘Our aim was to meet the needs of consumers who are looking for comprehensive solutions for different bathroom styles by offering them even more flexibility and customisation options.’
In addition, "AXOR One" offers further product innovations: Examples include the taps with lever or cross handles for the washbasin, which are available in different spout lengths and for different installation locations. In the bathtub area, ‘AXOR One’ now includes a slimline 2-hole bath rim mixer with thermostat and a 3-hole bath mixer for wall mounting, which is available with or without a hand shower. Here, too, you can choose between lever handles and cross handles. For the shower, there are two new versions of the Showerpipe for concealed and surface-mounted installation. Its EcoSmart technology reduces water consumption to a maximum of eight litres per minute. The products in the shower area also include a watering pipe set, thermostat modules for two or three consumers with lever or cross handles, a slim porter unit and a mixer for concealed installation for one or two consumers. ‘The new AXOR One design elements build on the innovation for which ‘AXOR One’ is known, while offering a fresh interpretation of the established collection,’ say Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
