Dark elegance
Hotel “At Six” is the latest project from Nordic Hotels & Resorts and the man behind the company, Petter Stordalen, who is hailed as the hotel-sector revolutionary in his Scandinavian homeland. The atmosphere in the 343 rooms and suites is the result of combining marble, steel and granite with high-grade woods and natural leather. The brief was to make this new luxury hotel in Sweden’s capital both a place of retreat and a showcase. It hopes to attract the kind of guests who expect superior standards of comfort and who appreciate tasteful furnishings and objets d’art.
When fitting out the bathrooms Universal Design Studio opted for mixers and showers from the “Axor Citterio” collection. In these bright rooms, the single-lever basin mixers and free-standing bathtub mixers are real eye-catchers, contrasting with the marble and white sanitary ware, and the “Brushed Bronze” Axor FinishPlus is a pleasant feature without being too extravagant. The single-unit basin mixers have a flowing feel and are easy to operate thanks to the joystick lever. The flow shaper even cuts water consumption to five liters per minute. In the suite, the floor-standing single-lever mixer completes the classically modern atmosphere. The matching towel rack and shelves also come from the Axor Universal accessories collection by Antonio Citterio. And given that the shower mixers and thermostats boast a matching design, the overall impression is very harmonious. (am)
