ARPER

Arper showcases pioneering science and elegant design both at the Salone del Mobile and at Milan Design Week – including a revolutionary material.
4/3/2024

The Arper showroom in Via Pantano 30 is a fixed stop at every Milan Design Week: located a little away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets near the Basilica di San Nazaro in Brolo, the new products and classics can be experienced in a relaxed atmosphere. This year, new furniture by Doshi Levien, Jean-Marie Massaud and Altherr Désile Park is on display – such as the "Lepal" lounge chair designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien. The curved seat shell, which is softly upholstered on angled legs, is reminiscent of the elegant design language of the 1960s: the high backrest merges gently into the armrests in a floral look and appears surprisingly light in combination with the sleek wooden or metal frame.

In parallel, the further development of the "Catifa" chair by Lievore Altherr Molina will be introduced: The shell of "Catifa Carta" is made from PaperShell, a robust wood by-product that captures carbon dioxide and can be recycled as biochar. Arper is pioneering in this process, as the sustainable material has never been used to make furniture before.
