Unlike any other sculptural medium light is constantly in motion, traveling in straight lines,” is how Arnout Meijer explains why he finds light fantastic. The young Dutchman and a graduate of Design Academy Eindhoven very much admires Ingo Maurer and aspires to a career as a light designer. With his series of wall and table luminaires “Thanks for the Sun” and their new siblings “Thanks for the Planets”, all made of superfine lines of LEDs that can provide both warm and cold light, Meijer demonstrates that he has already embarked on it.
