At this year's Milan Furniture Fair, Ames is presenting a special limited edition of the "Cartagena Reina Chair". The venue is the "Giardino segreto di ames", a 600 square metre private garden in the newly opened Vmaison boutique hotel in the heart of Brera.

Colombian vibes from Germany - that's what the furniture label Ames, based in Koblenz and founded by Ana Maria Calderón Kayser in 2006, stands for. All of the company's products are made in partnership with family-run Colombian artisan businesses. "Our collections are handmade in family-owned workshops where the craftsmen master centuries-old manufacturing techniques," Ana Maria Calderón Kayser comments. Ames offers an extensive portfolio that includes cushions, blankets and ceramic objects as well as furniture. For this purpose, the label developed the "Ames Sala" collection together with designer Sebastian Herkner, among others.

At the Milan Furniture Fair, Ames is now showing a special edition of the "Cartagena Reina Chair" from the "Cartagenas Collection", which was also designed by Sebastian Herkner. The limited-edition chair is inspired by the feathers of Colombian hummingbirds. Herkner combines green, blue and yellow-beige shades as well as dark berry tones through to purple and caramel. The result is a chair with an almost blurred effect that plays with the viewer's perception: From every angle, the seat, backrest and shade seem to overlap in different ways, creating new colour variations. The special edition of the "Cartagena Reina Chair" is presented in the design district of Brera in the "Giardino segreto di ames" together with other products from the Ames collection. This is a 600-square-metre private garden of the newly opened boutique hotel Vmaison, which offers an oasis of tranquillity amidst the hustle and bustle of the design hotspot. Ames is also presenting new products by Studio Ilse, Mae Engeleer, Studio Pauline Deltour and Sebastian Herkner at the Milan Furniture Fair. (ar)
