Alape's company history began in 1896 in Penig, Saxony, with products made of enamel: Adolf Lamprecht founded the company for the production of household goods. From 1896, the focus was on glazed steel and the production of high-quality basins and washstands. The titanium steel allows for particularly precise processing and ensures the durable robustness of the material. To this day, every basin and washbasin from Alape is a one-off production, with manual work and automated sub-processes merging into one another. Alape also quickly made the leap into the top league in development: the classic sink has been produced since the 1930s, in 1970 the company presented the first built-in basin with the "EW3", and in 1997 the bowl basin from the cooperation with Busalt caused a sensation. In 2019, together with sieger design, the industrial washbasin "Steel19" for small bathrooms was created, which among other things was awarded the Stylepark Selected Award. With the combination of black steel frames and a white insert of vanity top, washbasin and back wall, the precise design looks as if it was cast from a single mold.

Alape is currently creating a reference to the natural aesthetics of the oceans and the earth with the "Aqua" and "Terra" series: the glaze of the basins in "Aqua" is inspired by the iridescent color gradations of the oceans. Depending on the incidence of light, the surface has a different depth. For "Terra", Alape uses the finest particles, which offer a matte look and warm feel thanks to their mineral effect. The novelties that Alape has in store for the coming year are certainly worth looking forward to: "We have planned various new products for 2022. I can already reveal that we will be presenting filigree column washbasins that are based on current developments in architecture. Column washbasins have been a fixed and, above all, successful component of our product portfolio since 1977 and have been further developed by us in terms of shape and color ever since. The new washbasin solitaires are perfect for small bathrooms, offer shelves for accessories and can be ideally combined with our mirrors and our Assist storage system," explains Andrea Jürgens, Head of Creative Management at Alape.

The manufacturer's warranty of 25 years applies in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
