Amanda and Aleksander Vujadinovic have finally fulfilled their dream of owning and running their own hotel. With the historical old town of Ljubljana as a magnificent backdrop, they took four residential houses and reconfigured them to create an exclusive design hotel. This summer the Vander Urbani Resort finally opened its doors. Just a stone’s throw from the Ljubljanica River, its guests can choose from 16 rooms and two suites and enjoy a wonderful view of the entire city from the roof terrace complete with pool. In contrast to the building’s historical façades dating back to the Hapsburg era the hotel’s interior design is surprisingly modern: Furniture and textiles in violet, gray and metal tones adorn the living areas, combined with exposed concrete and mirrored surfaces. In-keeping with this futuristic feel, Slovenian architectural firm Sadar+Vuga opted for “PuraVida” mixers and showers by bathroom and sanitation specialists Hansgrohe based in Germany’s Black Forest. “PuraVida” was designed by Stuttgart studio Phoenix Design, which is run by Andreas Haug and Tom Schönherr. Emotive, flowing forms, a two-tone effect in white and chrome and easy-to-use functions are the key features of “PuraVida”. When useing the showerheads, for example, adjusting the type of water jet couldn’t be easier with a button conveniently positioned on the handle. The collection’s washbasin fittings also make altering the jet angle child’s play, with a gentle turn of the innovative jet former. Furthermore, the series’ DualFinish principle offers a marvelous consonance of shiny chrome and sparkling white to create a seamless, sophisticated effect - the elegant color combination a symbol of purity, lightness and beauty. The “PuraVida” product range includes fittings for washbasins, bathtubs and bidets, which are complemented by hand-held, overhead and lateral showerheads and jets. The range has already won Hansgrohe a series of prestigious design awards such as the Red Dot, iF Product Design, Good Design and Design Plus awards. With this bathroom series, delving into the old town of Ljubljana will be a real treat!
