Stefan Knopp's furniture is known for the natural radiance of wood as a material - as well as its unique surface finish. The furniture maker carefully preserves the structure of the wood and emphasises it through refinement. In this way, he makes the history of each tree visible and tangible. For the German manufacturer Janua, Stefan Knopp uses his unique expertise and closeness to nature to produce handcrafted furniture in the JANUA® / Stefan Knopp® edition. Inspired by archaic primal forces, he works the wood with fire (hollowed), water (washed) and air (smoked) - each board is truly unique. From this special edition, three variants of oak wood will be available as table tops in future: smoked and brushed, with a white raw effect, charred, brushed and whitewashed (grey tone) and charred and brushed (black tone).
