Vestre: STOOP by Julien De Smedt
Versatile Urban Furniture for Public Spaces.
Vestre's urban furniture STOOP combines a staircase and a bench, based on the observation that steps in public spaces are often used as seating. STOOP serves as an informal social meeting place and can be placed individually or in groups. The triangular shape allows several benches to form an urban auditorium. The original STOOP bench seats up to nine people on three levels, while the smaller version, STOOP Mini, seats up to five people on two levels, making it ideal for school yards. The range is completed by the STOOP picnic table, which applies the distinctive design language to a traditional picnic table with two fixed benches and a table in the middle.
Vestre, a Norwegian family-owned company with almost 80 years of history, is known for high-quality urban furniture that serves as a social meeting point. Sustainability, top quality and timeless design are the company's guiding values.
STOOP benches and picnic tables have been used all over the world - from Berlin to New York, Tokyo to Sydney - to sit, talk, work or just take a break and observe their surroundings. The STOOP picnic table is also wheelchair accessible.
STOOP furniture is characterised by robust construction and sustainable manufacturing. The basic structure is made of hot-dip galvanised steel, optionally powder-coated, complemented by FSC®-certified wood. Nordic Pine and Kebony are available for outdoor use, while Oiled Oak and Ash are available for indoor use. A B1 fire retardant impregnation is available as an option. The frame of the STOOP series is available in over 200 RAL colours and Vestre offers a lifetime guarantee against rust.
