Artemide: Nessino by Giancarlo Mattioli
Nine new colours for the classic Nessino lamp.
Just in time for the dreary winter months, Artemide surprises us with a colourful new edition of one of its most famous lamps. Nessino, a modern interpretation of the Nesso designed in 1967 by Giancarlo Mattioli and the Città Nuova group of architects, has long since achieved cult status. In addition to the classic colours of orange, red and white, there are now several special editions: stylish black, bold blue, soft light blue, discreet green and rich yellow.
With its distinctive plastic structure, mushroom-like shape and shiny surface, the Nessino embodies the design philosophy of the 1960s. It is reminiscent of Pop Art and the Plastic Age, a time of optimistic change and progress. The diffused light that pours over the base makes the colourful polycarbonate shade shine in its respective colour.
The new, expressive colours playfully harmonise with the iconic aesthetics of the lamp, making it look perfect on side tables, sideboards and shelves.
