DCWèditions: MUNARI by Lutz Pankow
A homage to Munari's playful learning and construction games: luminous elements that resemble floating planets of light.
The new luminaires designed by Lutz Pankow for DCWéditions are striking light sculptures that bring elegance and lightness to any space. They evoke the image of butterflies or floating planets, while radiating a powerful and bright light. The Munari luminaires are inspired by Bruno Munari, an influential Italian artist of the 1950s and 1960s. Pankow's design pays homage to Munari by combining clean forms with modern lighting technology.
His design approach follows the belief that well-designed technical objects exude natural beauty. The Munari lamps, his first collaboration with DCWéditions, embody this philosophy. Designed to resemble a magnetic vortex, they emit bright light while maintaining a light and elegant appearance.
Bruno Munari, known for his Op Art and creative learning and construction games, inspired Pankow and DCWéditions. Munari's games, often presented in boxes, served as the inspiration for the lighting system, which features floating light elements mounted on a sturdy conductive structure. Delivered in a flat box and easy to assemble, the design reflects Munari's educational influence.
