Cleaf: MATRICE & NEBULOSA

At this year’s Milan Design Week, Cleaf introduced two remarkable innovations that offer a fresh perspective on materiality and aesthetics.

MATRICE
Matrice is a contemporary reinterpretation of Cleaf’s historic Matrix texture, originally inspired by sandblasted larch wood. In its new version, the surface gains a more dynamic depth: the channels are no longer strictly linear but appear irregular and hand-drawn, giving the texture a crafted, almost living quality. Visually, it creates a striking contrast between the matte base and glossy micropores, while the tactile experience is distinctly organic.

NEBULOSA
Nebulosa, on the other hand, plays with contrasts. Against a matte background, shiny micro-details unfold – reminiscent of cosmic nebulae composed of dust, hydrogen, and plasma, from which the texture takes its name. The result is a surface with extraordinary depth and fluidity, exceptionally soft and velvety to the touch.

With Matrice and Nebulosa, Cleaf once again demonstrates how innovative texture design can be: balancing technical precision, sensory richness, and contemporary elegance.
