Form & Refine: Lunar Chair
Elegant, Inviting, Ergonomic.
Can a chair be a friend? A loyal companion that endures highs and lows, bearing the marks of use like dents and scratches? The answer is yes. Furniture can be considered a lifelong partner. This relationship is described as functional and aesthetic sustainability: pieces designed to remain functional over the years and made from natural materials that become more beautiful with time. Studies show that people form emotional bonds with certain objects because, in addition to their functionality and aesthetics, they carry life stories.
The Lunar Chair, named after the moon, features a seat shaped like a full moon and a crescent-shaped backrest. Made from FSC-certified oak, it is stackable and can be hung on the table edge. The X-shaped structure provides optimal stability and supports the chair's light, floating appearance. The Lunar Chair is also available in a padded version, upholstered with Hallingdal 65 fabric by Nana Ditzel. Its round, inviting form fits perfectly into the Form & Refine portfolio, which focuses on simple, carefully designed furniture that reflects Nordic individualism.
According to designer Jonas Herman, the Lunar Chair prioritizes functionality while equally integrating aesthetic and material considerations. The chair impresses with its thoughtful ergonomics, high comfort, and aesthetic expression. The naturally oiled oak wood develops an elegant patina over time.
Form & Refine aims to make the Lunar Chair a piece of furniture to spend a lifetime with. A reliable partner that accompanies the founding of a family or the setup of an office, hotel, or restaurant. A chair with ergonomic qualities and high comfort, appealing to everyone who uses it, and so durable that it lasts for generations.
