Golran: Below by Paritzki&Liani

Above, Between, Below is the first rug collection by Paritzki & Liani, the design department of the renowned architecture firm P&L Architects, designed for the long-established company Golran.

The collection includes three rugs – Above, Between, Below – that reflect the urban landscape of Tel Aviv and the cultural nomadism between East and West. Each rug interprets the city through complex layers, plays of light and handcrafted structures.

The Below rug embodies the essence of this collection. With its four colour variations – black, copper, pink and yellow – Below pays homage to the subtle and hidden layers of urban life. Below plays with the idea of depth and darkness, which is enhanced by the use of 65% silk and 35% fine wool. Around 140,800 knots per square metre create a dense, multi-layered structure that captures and reflects light, giving the rug a special visual depth. The colour choices of Below symbolise the transition between light and dark, creating a strong emotional impact in the room.

The complex craftsmanship reflects P&L's architectural attention to detail. The precise combination of colours and textures creates a three-dimensional effect that brings the rug to the fore as an objet d'art. The yarns are dyed by hand to create a variety of shades. All the rugs in the collection are available in two sizes (350 x 250 cm and 400 x 300 cm) and take about eight months to make. Each piece is made by skilled artisans in Nepal and showcases how architecture, design and craftsmanship are harmoniously combined.

The exhibition, which also features life-size design sketches, can be seen at the Golran flagship store in Milan from 18 September to 12 December 2024.
