Fornace Brioni: Araldica by Cristina Celestino
The play of materials and colours gives rise to forms recalling the colourful works of the Cosmati.
Cristina Celestino returns to the basics of Euclidean geometry, exploring the properties and relationships between points and lines, with an emphasis on symmetry and congruence. Through the play of materials and colours, the parallelogram is introduced into the world of repeated patterns and three-dimensional connections.
The resulting forms in pink, coloured and white terracotta combined with bold colours are reminiscent of the geometric and colourful works of the Cosmati. Their aim was to harmoniously combine geometric shapes and colours to create designs that bordered on the illusionistic.
